App Store Not Showing Mac Os Sierra Download

  

  1. I have a MacBook Pro running El Capitan that I need to upgrade to Sierra 10.12 (not High Sierra) for development reasons. I have previously upgraded my personal computer as follows: El Capitan - Sierra - High Sierra. Knowing that, I should be able to see the previous version in the App Store.
  2. App Store not downloading macOS Sierra I just renewed my Membership on Apples Dev Site, and now I'm trying to update to macOS Sierra - went to the Dev Download Site, redeemed my Download Code via the Download Button and started to download the Update, but had to disconnect my Internet-Cable.
  3. Boot to internet recovery and install the version of macOS that came with your Mac. If necessary, upgrade the current macOS. Download High Sierra from the App Store. (Optional) Remove the new partition and reclaim the free space.
  4. Similarly, Apple also sells Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion on their website. Apple will send you a download code to use it on the Mac App Store, and since the Mac App Store was initially introduced with OS X Snow Leopard, you’ll need to be running it in order to install Lion or Mountain Lion.

Now, if you have that box checked, your Mac will download not just app updates and incremental OS updates, but major updates too, starting with the installer of macOS Sierra.

years ago, I chose not to update (Yosemite?) by option-click on the download link in the App Store, then choosing to hide that update.


But App Store continued to also hide Sierra and High Sierra.

Now, I take that I just should select “Show All Software Updates” in the 'Store' section of App Store - but that line is not there ...


Any idea to reset this? I tried already the trick to get to the Debug menue and removing the Cache and resetting - did not help. Even some more elaborate things (deleting Cache folders and entries in /var/... like here: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/245406/how-to-fix-reset-app-store-app- on-mac-osx-el-capitan).

Nothing helped.

Check compatibility
